Dear friends,

There is no love sincerer than the love of food

- George Bernard Shaw

Client News…Hotel Kurá Hulanda opens its doors on November 1 on the Netherlands Antilles island of Curaçao and offers the Bonbiní package in celebration.  In Papiamentu (the native language of Curaçao) Bonbiní means welcome - a most appropriate sentiment for the grand opening.  The package is available November 1, 2001 through April 14, 2002.  The three-night package is $750 for a standard room and $950 for a Spa Loft Suite (additional night is $200 and $300 respectively).  A seven-night package is $1,615.00.  Rates are per room based on double occupancy.  Taxes and service charges are included.   For reservations please call (888) 660-2225 or the hotel at 011-5999-434-7700.

We will be running a press trip to Hotel Kurá Hulanda either November 29 or December 6 – journalists please feel free to email or call us if you are interested.

Oxygen Lounge is shaping up in Coconut Grove – designer Andy Kostas (Suite 16, Ready Bar and more) is putting the finishing touches on this sleek \"googie\" style lounge and the effect is stunning.  To find out more about this decorative style -- emanating from California in the 1960s -- log onto www.googie.com (not to be confused with google.com).  The hot feature is a light wall that is kinetic art to quote proprietor Matt Goldman, a sentiment echoed by his partners Marie Fernandez-Leon and Angel Sanchez.

Hotel Ocean (1230-38 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach) offers the Trois Reves package available now through December 30, 2001. When guests book a three-night stay at rack rates ($200 to $600 depending upon accommodations) they will be treated to lots of goodies.  Please call (800) 783-1725 for details and reservations.

Hot tips for the month… Visit Boston and Providence, RI when you have the time and want great regional cuisine.  A fun note…had to travel all the way to Boston to run into Miami Beach's very own Mayor -- Neisen Kasdin -- in front of the public library.   For the world's best hot dog stop by Spike's Junkyard Dog Thayer Street in Providence near Brown University.  For outrageous tapas dine at Dalí in Boston.  For the best in baked goods slink into Seven Stars Bakery on Hope Street, in Providence. And for outstanding salty crispy squid dine at East Ocean City in Boston.  (Credit goes to Chelsea Eyre for squiring me around the northeast.)

Books of the month…all the controversy (to Oprah or not to Oprah) doesn't diminish how terrific Jonathan Franzen's \"The Corrections\" is – read it, you'll be happy you did.  Susan Orlean's short stories in \"The Bullfighter Checks Her Makeup\" are immensely amusing and engaging profiles.  Depressed or know someone that is?  Read Andrew Solomon's \"The Noonday Demon\" an articulate and deeply informative exploration of depression and its many incarnations.

Great websites… www.googie.com (see above entry).    Click on www.morningfarm.com for lots of great candles and products for the home.  Feeling stressed?  Mouse over to www.stressdirections.com.

Word of the month…gramercy…from the French (grant merci) signifying many thanks.    Bet you never thought of the many ways to say thank you and the many people that would love to hear a word of thanks.  Why not?
